When you come into Advanced Dental Care for the first time, we will start by collecting all of your personal information and then sitting down for a thorough chat about your oral health, any particular needs you have at the moment, and what you would like to achieve over time. Perhaps you are simply interested in partnering with a dentist for excellent preventive care, or maybe you would like to explore your options in tooth replacement or cosmetic dentistry. After this initial chat, we will take X-rays and begin the cleaning and checkup. Your hygienist will remove all plaque and tartar buildup and check your gums for evidence of deep periodontal pockets, which indicate gum disease. Once this portion is complete, Dr. Jorgenson will examine your teeth for signs of cavities, worn dental work, teeth grinding, and other oral health hazards. Based on this information, we will plan on a time for you to come in again. If nothing requires follow-up attention, that means it’ll be time for a checkup and cleaning in another six months.
